The Whitaker Boys -PreSale
There are three Whitaker boys.
Everyone who knows the family knows there are really four.
Grayson, Bennett, and Holden Whitaker have spent their lives doing what brothers do best: tormenting one another relentlessly, creating just enough chaos to keep life interesting, and making absolutely certain nobody outside the family gets away with doing the same.
Then there’s Tripp Avery.
Bennett’s best friend has been around so long that no one remembers exactly when he stopped being a guest. He knows the Whitaker traditions, has a place at their table, joins the family for summers at the lake, and gives as good as he gets when the brothers turn on one another. Somewhere along the way, Tripp simply became the fourth Whitaker.
Grayson is the oldest. Bennett is the middle. And Holden—the bookish, funny, quietly observant youngest brother—is beginning high school with something important to tell his family.
He’s gay.
For Holden, coming out means finally allowing the people he loves most to know all of him. For his brothers, the response is considerably simpler: Holden is still Holden. He’s still their little brother. And anyone who has a problem with him will now have Grayson and Bennett to answer to.
What none of them expects is Tripp.
Because sometime during the year and a half that follows, Bennett’s best friend begins to see his best friend’s little brother differently.
It happens slowly.
Through school days and family dinners. Practical jokes and changing friendships. Quiet conversations and growing pains. And finally, during a second unforgettable summer at the lake, when something that has been changing between Holden and Tripp becomes impossible for either of them to ignore.
The Whitaker Boys is a warm, funny coming-of-age story about three brothers, the boy who became their fourth, and a first love that grows quietly inside a family where teasing is practically a love language—and showing up for one another is never optional.
The Whitakers will pick on each other more than anyone else ever could.
They’ll also love each other more fiercely than anyone else ever will.
